Kesho ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Infoholiks and is built to help you discover what's happening in Kampala and across Uganda. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Kesho mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us:

• Phone number (used for account creation and authentication)
• Display name you choose for your profile
• Events you save, attend, or show interest in
• Content you submit as an organiser (event details, venue information)
• Communications with us via support channels

We also collect certain information automatically:

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• General location (city level) when you grant permission, used to show nearby events
• App usage patterns and feature interactions
• Crash reports and performance data

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Kesho account
• To show you relevant events in your area
• To send push notifications about events you've saved or expressed interest in
• To process organiser applications and manage event submissions
• To improve the app and fix bugs
• To prevent fraud and ensure platform safety

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

• Firebase (Google) — for authentication and push notifications
• Supabase — for database storage
• NexumPay — for processing mobile money payments (MTN MoMo and Airtel Money) when you purchase tickets
• Law enforcement, when required by law

Organiser profiles (display name and event listings) are visible to all Kesho users.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Event submissions and organiser history may be retained for up to 12 months after deletion for compliance purposes.

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time
• Withdraw location permission at any time via your device settings

Children's Privacy

Kesho is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission, secure authentication via Firebase, and role-based access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via push notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
